Jason Davis (JJD) is a Professor of Chemistry at Oxford and Official Student & Senior Tutor in Chemistry at Christ Church College. He has published ~180 research papers (>8,000 citations) in leading peer-reviewed journals in the areas of diagnostics, responsive nanoparticle engineering, and supramolecular chemistry (https://jjdgroup.co.uk). His research team have extensive experience in interfacial ion binding assays (Chem. Comm., 2004; Chem. Comm., 2007; Chem. Comm., 2007 Chem. Sci., 2012; Chem. Comm., 2015; Chem. Comm., 2019) and the importance of binding site dielectric and solvation in ion binding,(Chem. Rev., 2020; Chem. Sci., 2021; Chemistry, 2021; JACS 2021). This has included work where solvent penetration effects can be controlled and optimised (Angew. 2023; Nature Chem. Rev., 2024). This has extended to include the integration of receptive motifs within spherical and two-dimensional lipid films.
