Early Career Travel Bursaries provide funding for new academics, PDRAs and PhD students in foldamer (or a related field) research groups that do not have the funding to attend relevant conferences.
The Network will provide ECR Travel Bursaries for Early Career Researchers to attend the appropriate meetings and conferences nationally and internationally. Ideally, recipients would present their own work at these venues, it is our belief that many ECRs may not have obtained their first grant or yet gained enough data to do so. We do not think this should be an excluding factor. After all, those that can present such data are likely to have done so via a grant where conference expenses would have already been factored in.
To apply for this opportunity, you must be a member of the foldamer network (select “Join Network” above), and work within the UK. FWs must be held in the UK (either in academia or industry). Note that six awards are made per year with reimbursement of up to £1,500.
Applications are accepted every 8 weeks on a bi-monthly basis. Our next application deadline is 28 November 2026 23:59PM GMT. Please submit your application at you’re earliest convenience, applications are reviewed on a first-come first-serve basis.
