Biography

Professor Steven Cobb is a member of staff in the Chemistry Department and also currently the Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research at Durham University. His group works within the field of peptide/peptoid science with active research projects in the areas of – the design, synthesis, biophysical characterisation, and biological evaluation of dual acting peptide-based materials and gels, in the preparation of peptide-nanoparticle hybrid materials and in the design of new therapeutic interventions that target the cell surface/membrane of bacterial, fungal and parasitic pathogens (e.g. Deputy Coordinator of the GCRF-Medical Research Council Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2017-2022, 14 global partners, £7.8M). He is the current elected UK representative on the European peptide Society Council and one of the co-founders/ current directors of the Durham University spinout PepMoTec Ltd, a company that specialises in peptide and protein modification technologies.
