Professor André Cobb has been asked to edit a Methods in Enzymology volume on Foldamers. This is not a review journal, but asks for a method or protocol within the field that comes from your research. It is particularly well-suited (and indeed encouraged) to have contributions from PhD students, postdocs, or technicians as the protocol need not be original and will also count on their CV as a publication.

It also does not need to be obviously in the field of enzymology. As long as it will benefit someone trying to reproduce any aspect of your work, then it is appropriate. For example, it could be a step-by-step account of how your group has achieved the synthesis of a foldamer (e.g. solid phase peptide synthesis on non-peptidic systems), or the practical side of any application (e.g. catalyst conditions).

Summary

  • Contributions do not have to relate to enzymology directly!
  • Anything around design, synthesis and application is appropriate.
  • The contribution can already be published.
  • Length is not prescribed but chapters are between 5000 and 8000 words (including references).
  • The author will receive a USD $100 honorarium.
